Star Trekk Night Walk for Queenscourt Hospice
Once again Pleasureland is delighted to be lending a hand at this year’s night walk for our local hospice by providing the start and finish area for the hundreds of participants who are determined to raise funds for this worthy cause.
Now in its 11th year, the walk, on Friday 19th May, starts in our Arena ground which is set up with entertainment, registration point, refreshments and toilets. The walk, which starts at 8.30pm, wends its way through Southport and Birkdale and finishes back here.
Come rain, hail or balmy weather, the walkers, traditionally in various pink costumes, make a memorable sight on a starlit evening.
2017’s event saw 1100+ walkers raise a wonderful £88,000 for the hospice and this year, the organisers of the event are hoping to surpass this and continue to provide much needed services for patients and families.
So don’t be shy – everyone is welcome (it’s not just for the girls!) and you can sign up for the walk or just make a donation through the official website here: Queenscourt Hospice Star Trekk

UK Junior Fashion Festival
Part of Southport Fashion weekend, the junior fashion festival at Pleasureland is one of four events presented by G-Models and Casting Agency who organised the Southport Fashion Show for six years.
Happening here on Saturday 20th May, we can promise a fabulous day of fashion and fun! Targeted at families and children up to the age of 16, there will be plenty to see on the catwalk inside our Casablanca building. And it doesn’t end with the models; there’ll also be live entertainment and stalls including clothing for all the family, arts and crafts, health and wellbeing and more!
The festival at Pleasureland will be hosted by the lovely Claire Simmo of Radio City and best of all, the event is entirely free to enter!
So put a note in your diary and get ready to see what’s on trend for 2017!

Southport Comic Con
We’re excited and delighted to be a main host for this year’s Southport Comic Con on 25th June. The event was great success in 2016 and this year will be bigger and better!
For those that are new to the concept, comic-con is short for comic convention, a gathering of aficionados and followers of the many types of comic genres that are still published and loved by hundreds of thousands of readers. The concept actually started back in the 60’s in the US and is still going strong across the globe.
Those taking part in comic-cons are likely to throw themselves 100% into a theme of their choice, be it superhero, science fiction, horror or pop culture icons. They will spend hours and plenty of money on perfecting their costume and many will enter competitions and events where prizes and general acclaim can be won.
Our Casablanca area will be showcasing the entertainment and competitions. We’re likely to see many recognizable super heroes, characters from science fiction including Star Wars, Dr Who and other popular TV programmes. But of course these characters are unlikely to confine themselves to Casablanca so don’t be surprised to see Spiderman strolling through the park and partaking of a ride or two!
Our Sega family arcade will be open as usual as the main convention activity takes place in the front (street entrance) area. There will be plenty of competition to enjoy on the day including cosplay (which again for the uninitiated is ‘costume play’) with prizes in many categories.
If you want to find out more about the convention, take part and compete, there’s information at www.mseevents.co.uk where you can also purchase tickets. Children’s tickets are £2 and adults £4 (online purchase) but there are savings to be made for family groups.
It sounds like a great excuse to get the dressing-up box out!
