Visitors to Southport may not any longer be “rocked to sleep by the sea” nor see much of a “sloeblack, slow, black, crowblack, fishingboat-bobbing sea”. But the words of Dylan Thomas will shortly be heard from the performance area of Southport Pleasureland when they present Dylan Thomas’ masterpiece Under Milk Wood.
This clever and beautiful work was originally commissioned as a radio drama with Richard Burton playing the part of narrator. It was later adapted as a stage play which is what Pleasureland are proud and excited to be showing.
The drama will be presented on Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th May on stage in the Casablanca area of Pleasureland.
Entrance is just £5 which is payable on the door. There is a full bar that also serves hot drinks and which will be open before the performance and during the interval.
