We hosted a fantastic rally last weekend for nearly 80 recreational vehicles, many of which were the large American and Winnebago style mobile homes.
These vehicles don’t stint on luxury and it’s not unusual for them to be kitted out with leather furniture, large screen TVs, en suite bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens! Often with areas that slide out to create even more space when parked up, they are pretty impressive when amassed for a rally.
The Recreational Vehicle Owners Club (RVOC) have been visiting Pleasureland for an annual rally for three years now. This year we comfortably accommodated them all in our Arena area meaning they were all together for what felt like their own private party! We opened our Casablanca bar for two nights for their parties where there was live music and dancing. We also arranged for a fish and chip supper for them all on their first night.
They made good use of their time in Southport, taking part in a Go Karts rally on our track, having a fantastic group lunch at The New Ronnie’s in town and reliving their childhoods, racing on the swans in the marine lake!
During one of their party nights, they held a raffle, one of the prizes being a family pass for the rides at Pleasureland. Their efforts raised £250 for the Baby Care Unit at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital.
We are always interested to host rallys for RVs so do let us know if you would
like to explore this.
And we very much look forward to welcoming the RVOC back next year for an even bigger and better event!
